Description::This coverlet contains extreme thermo-regulative characteristics. An organism can maintain an optimal body temperature only if a balanced input and output of heat is insured. Sweat is transferred into surrounding air with difficulties while body is laying down so this role is taken over by the textiles in touch with a human skin. Consequently, a mattress must be very well isolated from underneath to maintain warmth. Since the textile materials are better warmth conductors than air, the air closed between individually pillowed textile layers becomes a good isolator. While circulating, the warmth does not attach itself to textile fibres as moisture does, yet it goes right through the material. That is why the best materials for bed and bed-clothes production are the ones which achieve a good absorption of moisture and a smaller heat resistance than air. Consequently, the Kapok Line coverlet is made of the finest fibres of the plant called kapok, which are 8 times lighter than cotton and belong to a group of the lightest fibres of natural origin. Since the kapok fibber has in its structure 80% air molecules “trapped” which work as a natural isolator, the coverlet provides a natural thermo-regulation. It means that the coverlet cools the body down during the summer and makes it warm during the winter. This material has a bitter smell, a special level of softness and cosiness and is hostile to dust mites (makes them leave a mattress).
