product description
Description::Mediapan or MDF is medium thick vlaknena plate made mainly of beech, spruce, fir and forest with the addition of polymer resin.
Unlike plywood MDF has a homogeneous and extremely fine structure so that it has a higher hardness and resistant to moisture and can be processed on the traditional way (like a tree).
There MDF raw and refined white-sided foil. In both cases there is no MDF decorative surface so that requires
finishing (painting, veneering, laminating).
Similar to the plywood panels MDF dimensions are approximately 2800x2070 mm (depending on the manufacturer) and thickness that are used in furniture production are 4.6, 8, 10, 16, 19, 25 and 40 mm.
Panels of MDF and less thickness 6, 8 and 10 mm can be bent to a certain extent, so they are mainly used for making some of the details of curved surfaces.
The great advantage of MDF compared to plywood is its structure, which gives excellent workability, and therefore widely used in making furniture. The cut is correct and precise geometry. Lack of MDF compared to plywood is that it must be done on the finish, which extends the period of development and raises the price.
