Starting from the premise that the reference to Serbian film among young film lovers and the audience down to a few titles that are (too) often played on television, organizers of the proceedings stated that their intention was to change this situation and remind the directors who had the courage to walk unbeaten paths, to experiment, explore and take risks.
The basic idea was to examine the legacy of Serbian films, with an emphasis on the disadvantaged, a marginalized authors, titles and subjects and see what of it to correspond with today, young man. In this respect it should be read and the name of the project: The new frame means and re-framing the history of Serbian film, a new angle on the topics and directors that younger film critics consider to be relevant today.
