    Author of the study more than thirty years, with a team of various specialists, worked on uncovering the ways in which our brain and body are intertwined with social reactions. Believing that, with a little encouragement, anyone can escape from the prison of impaired social cognition, John Kasiopi has written a book that helps lonely to regain control of their lives.

    Using the results of the brain scan, following changes in blood pressure and analyzing the function of the immune system, Kasiopi shows the overwhelming influence of the social environment on humans, the factors that has so much power that its effects can be felt even at the level of DNA.

    Kasiopi indicates so far unnoticed syndrome chronic loneliness pulls out from the shadow of his relatives depression - a subjective sense of social isolation that uniquely disrupts our perception, behavior and physiology, becoming a trap that not only strengthens the actual isolation but also leads to an early death.
