Into a double plot this famous American author once again proved as an excellent storyteller, entertaining erudite writer whose prose flows smoothly, and criss-crossed by numerous literary references. Eugenides revives (and deconstructed) motivational elements of great novels of the 19th century, but the story creates a modern and fresh, new great novel of our century young, somewhat lost people who found themselves in the vortex of "adult" life.
"Because there are books that can penetrate through the noise of life and speak only about those truest things," Mitchell said. Double plot for many to be one of those books.
