The existence of a digital culture is most often seen in the light of the latest technological improvements, so that in all the impression that it is completely different from all that preceded it. The author of this interesting study proves exactly the opposite - digital culture is not a new phenomenon, nor is its development is conditioned solely by technological advances. He stated that the digital culture in its present form historically conditioned phenomenon, whose first elements occur as a response to the needs of modern capitalism, to then consolidate, thanks to the needs of the wars in the mid twentieth century. The technology is still only one of many sources that have contributed to the development of this phenomenon. The other sources are the avant-garde artistic practice, counterculture utopianism, critical Teoria and philosophy, and digital culture product is slojženih interaction of the dialectical relationship of all these ingredients. The book is written with the assumption that the digital culture can not be understood if not discern all the heterogeneous elements of which it is made and, therefore, explains the conditions in which they develop and the way they act on each other.
