The very concept that includes the ability to be successful interaction at the various cultures it is easy to understand, but they take time and effort to achieve a high level of cultural intelligence. Starting from these assumptions, David Thomas and Kerr Inkson have written a book that is a guide in acquiring this valuable skill.
In the first part of the book is exposed to the basic idea of cultural intelligence, its principles and practice; explains what are the cultural differences and how they shape people's behavior, with the aim of developing our sensitivity to the behavior shaped by culture and skills useful in cross-cultural situations.
In the second part the authors of the basic principles of cultural intelligence applied to a few typical problems in interpersonal relationships within a multicultural context, such as difficulties in communication, negotiation, decision-quality ... Their message is that the understanding of culture difficult, but not impossible task, as well as to that we can successfully operate in different cultural frameworks if we learn the basic principles, adopt a conscious approach and show willingness to act as a person adaptable to different cultures.
