Description::These gabions are made of hexagonal, double-woven galvanized, steel, wire mesh, which is inextricable after cutting of wire. Dimensions of eyelets are 80 x 100 mm. Galvanized wire has a diameter of 2.7-3.0 mm, while the tensile strength of wire is 400N/mm2. Gabions are manufactures in accordance with international ASTM standards for hexagonal wire knitting and gabions. Hexagonal gabions are manufactured in the following forms: 1) Gabion cages rectangular in shape. They come in lengths of 1.5 to 4.0; heights of 0.5 to 1.0m and widths of 1.0 m or “jumbo” gabions 2.0 m wide. Interior space of gabions is membrane divided into two equal parts, with 1 m distance between them. Gabion cages are delivered packed in the form of package. 2) Gabion boxes with anchorage mesh. They are used for stabilizing and strengthening of high embankments as a flexible modular system. They consist of gabion cages, dimensions 2x1x0.5m or 2x1x1 m and anchorage hexagonal mesh strip, 3 to 6 m long. 3) Gabion mattresses are similar to gabion boxes, but have lower height. Basic lengths of mattresses are: 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0 m, while their height is 0.23, 0.3 and 0.5 m, and their width is 2 m. 4) Gabion bags are cylindrical elements, made of hexagonal woven wire mesh, on whose edge is set a steel wire 3.4-3.9 in diameter for easy closing after filling with stones. Bags are suitable for use in hard to reach terrains, on the riverbeds and for the works on banks. Length of begs is 2.0-4.0m, while their diameter is 0.65-0.95m.
